Summer of Pain

[Do I even remember how to blog?...it's been a while!]

My beautiful Grandma the last time we saw her. July 2012
We had planned to visit Utah after the fourth of July, but we ended up arriving on the fourth, just in time for her viewing. She had passed away a week before we had planned to arrive, so unfortunately, we didn't get to visit her and see her smile and hear her laugh. We will miss her dearly. She was 97 and had lived a long, hard, serving, loving life.

I took the kids in separately to see her body and explain to them about bodies and spirits and the resurrection. Evie touched her hair, then told me she was hoping that she would wake her up. Zachary took it in well, then I think he touched her hand.

This is Halloween

Around August I asked the kids what they wanted to be. I started throwing out suggestions. Evie's answer was "Tinkerbell!"

"Honey, you've been Tinkerbell for the last 2 years. I'm pretty sure the costume won't fit you anymore!"

Among the others, I suggested MarioKart. Zach jumped at that.

Then came the dilemma: Which character?

Mario? Overdone.
Luigi? Eh.
Bowser? Toad? Koopa?
Princess Peach? Rosalina/Blue Princess? Princess Daisy?

In the end, Z chose Toad. E chose baby Princess Peach.

As you can tell, she changed her mind. It was much easier to make 2 Toad costumes than it would to make just 1 Princess Peach costume!

That Tooth Fairy is Busy!

Another one was yanked out last night. By the little man. Again!

That makes 4 teeth in 3 weeks!

Also, it seems to be getting more ordinary, as I had to discover it was missing on my own. About 18 hours AFTER it happened! Because he lost it. Then he lost it.
